In this video I have explained in detail about the domain name registration process. You will also learn how to link your domain to your web server by configuring the name servers. I have used Name.com domain registrar in this example. If you choose to register your domain with any other domain name registrar, most of the steps are similar. Make sure that you have read my article: What are Domain Names and How to Get Your First Domain Name before you watch this video.

Hi Deepak,
I must say your blog has a lot of potential. The video tutorial is very clear and straightforward – well presented!
To add, soon-to-be website owners should register with well-known domain registrars to avoid force majeure ahead. Some of the well-known domain registrars are Name.com, GoDaddy.com, and NameCheap.com.
Think twice before you register with a new registrant offering you heavily-discounted domain name. I’m going to lose 2 domain names (1 live blog!) because I’m registering with Triple.com, and I heard rumors that it is going to close down business
Luckily, I only have 2 domain names with them!
My 2 cents
Never heard of Triple.com. Anyway thanks for the warning. As you said, it is good to go with the big companies. Even if they close down, their portfolio will be purchased by another big company.
Informative and thought provoking. Please do consider making more tutorials.
